Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla.
- Gradually add the flour mixture and milk, alternating between the two.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- Frost with chocolate frosting once completely cooled.

- For a richer flavor, use high-quality cocoa powder.
- Make sure the butter is at room temperature for easy blending.
