  • 1 cup tteokbokki (Korean rice cakes)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar and mozzarella)
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until golden.
  4. Slowly add the milk, whisking continuously until smooth and thickened.
  5. Stir in the cheese until melted and creamy.
  6. Add the gochujang, soy sauce, garlic powder, and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Fold in the cooked macaroni and tteokbokki until well combined.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with green onions.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, adjust the amount of gochujang based on your heat preference.
