- 2 cups pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook the onion and garlic until translucent.
- Add the ground pork and beef, cooking until browned.
- Stir in the spices and beef broth, simmer for 10 minutes.
- Roll out the pie crust and place it in a pie dish.
- Fill the crust with the meat mixture.
- Cover with the top crust and seal the edges.
- Make small slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
- Brush the top with beaten egg.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Best served hot with a side of ketchup or pickles.
- Can be made ahead of time and frozen for later use.
