- 12 ounces mostaccioli pasta
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the mostaccioli pasta according to the package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- In a skillet, heat marinara sauce over medium heat, then add meatballs and simmer until cooked through.
- Mix pasta with the remaining marinara sauce, and add the cooked meatballs on top.
- Transfer to a baking dish and sprinkle with additional mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped basil before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add Italian seasoning to the meatball mixture.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
- Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef if desired.
