- 1 cup vital wheat gluten
- 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
- 1/4 cup finely chopped mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine vital wheat gluten, nutritional yeast, chopped mushrooms, soy sauce, tomato paste, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Add water gradually while mixing until a dough forms.
- Shape the dough into a log and wrap it tightly in aluminum foil.
- Steam the wrapped log for 30-40 minutes.
- Let it cool completely before slicing.

- This salami can be stored in the fridge for up to a week.
- Great for sandwiches, crackers, or as a snack!
