Ingredients

  • 1 cup vital wheat gluten
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine vital wheat gluten, nutritional yeast, chopped mushrooms, soy sauce, tomato paste, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  2. Add water gradually while mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Shape the dough into a log and wrap it tightly in aluminum foil.
  4. Steam the wrapped log for 30-40 minutes.
  5. Let it cool completely before slicing.
