Deliciously fudgy brownies made with tahini and dates, perfect for a plant-based and gluten-free dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup tahini
  • 1 cup pitted dates
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a food processor, blend the tahini and pitted dates until smooth.
  3. Add the maple syrup, cocoa powder, salt, vanilla extract, and baking soda, and blend again until combined.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For extra sweetness, add more dates or maple syrup.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
