This sweet chili sauce is perfect for dipping, marinating, or adding a bit of sweetness and heat to your dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, rice vinegar, water, ketchup, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  3. Once boiling, add the cornstarch mixture and stir until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool.
  5. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate.

Notes

  • This sauce can be used as a marinade or dipping sauce.
  • Adjust the heat by adding more or fewer red pepper flakes.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
