Delicious stuffed mushrooms that resemble Christmas trees, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large mushrooms
  • 1 cup Asiago cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Remove the stems from the mushrooms and chop them finely.
  3. In a skillet, sauté the chopped stems and garlic until soft.
  4. In a bowl, mix the sautéed stems, Asiago, basil, cream cheese, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  5. Stuff the mushroom caps with the mixture and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
  6. Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • These mushrooms can be prepared a day ahead and baked just before serving.
  • Feel free to substitute the Asiago with your favorite cheese.
