Ingredients

- 1 pound large mushrooms
- 1 cup Asiago cheese, grated
- 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1/4 cup cream cheese
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the stems from the mushrooms and chop them finely.
- In a skillet, sauté the chopped stems and garlic until soft.
- In a bowl, mix the sautéed stems, Asiago, basil, cream cheese, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Stuff the mushroom caps with the mixture and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
- Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- These mushrooms can be prepared a day ahead and baked just before serving.
- Feel free to substitute the Asiago with your favorite cheese.
