A fun and spooky Halloween dish that brings excitement to dinner with its mummy-like appearance.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup ketchup (divided)
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 black olives (for eyes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, oregano, and thyme. Blend thoroughly until cohesive.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  4. Pour 3/4 cup of ketchup over the top, ensuring it’s evenly spread.
  5. Bake the meatloaf for 45 minutes.
  6. While it’s cooking, unroll the crescent roll dough and slice it into thin strips.
  7. Once the timer goes off, take the meatloaf out of the oven and wrap the dough strips around it like bandages, leaving spaces for the eyes.
  8. Put the meatloaf back in the oven and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.
  9. Allow it to cool for a few minutes, then use the remaining ketchup to draw a spooky face and place the black olives for eyes.
  10. Enjoy it warm.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, mix in 1 teaspoon of chili powder with the meat.
  • Ground turkey or chicken can be used for a lighter twist.
