Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas and melted butter.
  3. Add the sugar, eggs, and vanilla, and mix until well combined.
  4. Stir in the baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  5. Gradually add in the flour and mix until just incorporated.
  6. Fold in nuts if using.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and cool completely on a wire rack.
