- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until a thick batter forms.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Using a spaetzle maker or colander, press the batter into the boiling water.
- Cook until the dumplings float to the surface, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain.
- In a skillet, melt butter and sauté the dumplings until lightly browned.
Notes
- Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Freeze uncooked dumplings for up to 2 months.
