Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 package saltine crackers
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring until well combined.
  4. Bring to a boil and let it boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
  5. Pour the butter mixture over the crackers evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until bubbling.
  7. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  8. Let chocolate sit for a few minutes to melt, then spread it evenly over the top.
  9. If using, sprinkle chopped nuts on top of the melted chocolate.
  10. Let cool completely at room temperature before cutting into pieces.
