A deliciously rich and decadent salted caramel chocolate tart that is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate wafer cookies, crushed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine crushed chocolate wafer cookies and melted butter. Press the mixture into a tart pan to form the crust.
  3. Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then let it cool.
  4. In a saucepan, combine sugar and 1/4 cup of water over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  5. Increase the heat and boil until it turns a deep amber color, then remove from heat.
  6. Carefully stir in heavy cream and sea salt until smooth.
  7. Pour caramel over the cooled crust.
  8. In another saucepan, melt dark chocolate with a bit of heavy cream until smooth, then pour it over the caramel layer.
  9. Chill the tart in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Allow the tart to cool completely before slicing.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
