Delicious salmon roe patties fried in rich beef tallow for a satisfying appetizer or main dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup salmon roe
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (dill or parsley)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups beef tallow for frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine salmon roe, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, herbs, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into patties.
  3. Heat beef tallow in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Fry the patties in the tallow until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  5. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve warm.
