- 1 package puff pastry sheets
- 4 cups milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 6 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut them into rectangles. Bake until golden brown.
- In a saucepan, combine milk, sugar, flour, cornstarch, and eggs. Cook over medium heat, stirring until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Once the pastry is cooled, layer it with the custard until all are used.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and spread it on top.
- Chill in the refrigerator before serving.
Notes
- For best results, allow the cake to chill for several hours or overnight.
- This cake can be made a day in advance.
