These rice paper shrimp dumplings are a delicious and convenient hack for making traditional Har Gow.

Ingredients

  • 1 package rice paper wrappers
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup water chestnuts, chopped
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Soak rice paper wrappers in warm water until pliable.
  2. In a bowl, mix shrimp, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, green onions, water chestnuts, and cilantro.
  3. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each rice paper wrapper.
  4. Fold the wrapper to enclose the filling into a dumpling shape.
  5. Steam dumplings for 10-12 minutes until cooked through.

Notes

  • Can be served with soy sauce or a dipping sauce of your choice.
  • For a spicier kick, add chili sauce to the filling.
