- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat.
- Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Add flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder; mix until just blended.
- Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before frosting.
- Make frosting: in a bowl, combine powdered sugar, butter, peppermint extract, and milk until smooth. Spread over the cooled brownies.
- Let the frosting set before slicing into squares.
Notes
- For extra peppermint flavor, you can add crushed peppermint candies on top of the frosting.
- These brownies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
