  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup jam (your choice)
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add butter, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  5. Spread jam over the batter, then top with the remaining batter.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
