Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons spicy chili sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for added spice)
- Wooden or metal skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes)
Instructions
- Whisk together the olive oil, spicy chili sauce, chopped garlic, lime juice, paprika, sea salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if desired) in a mixing bowl to form a zesty marinade.
- Introduce the shrimp to the marinade, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow it to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat your grill or grill pan to a medium-high temperature.
- Carefully skewer the marinated shrimp, placing about 4-5 shrimp on each skewer.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for approximately 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp turn a vibrant pink and are fully cooked through.
- Once cooked, take the skewers off the grill and let them sit for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a splash of soy sauce to the marinade.
- Pair the skewers with a refreshing cucumber salad or fluffy quinoa for a delightful meal.
