Deliciously spiced meatballs in a rich tomato sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground lamb
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, ground lamb, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, cinnamon, cumin, coriander, salt, pepper, and egg until well combined.
  2. Form mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook meatballs until browned on all sides.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes and sugar to the skillet, stirring to combine.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, until meatballs are cooked through.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
