- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon mint extract
- green food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter. Remove from heat, and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Beat in flour, cocoa, and salt until well blended.
- Spread the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven. Do not overcook.
- In a bowl, blend powdered sugar, milk, mint extract, and food coloring until smooth.
- Spread the mint frosting over the cooled brownies.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add chocolate chips to the brownie batter.
- Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature.
