Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease and flour four mini loaf pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined. If using, fold in the chopped walnuts.
- Divide the batter evenly among the mini loaf pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the loaves are baking, prepare the glaze by combining the caramel sauce and sweetened condensed milk in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until smooth and heated through.
- Once the loaves are done, allow them to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
- Drizzle the warm glaze over the cooled loaves and let it set for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a teaspoon of cinnamon to the batter.
- Substitute walnuts with chocolate chips for a sweeter twist.
- To reduce sweetness, decrease the amount of caramel sauce or mix in unsweetened cocoa powder.
