A deliciously indulgent treat combining buttery shortbread, a layer of caramel, and rich chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 200g digestive biscuits
  • 100g unsalted butter, melted
  • 200g sweetened condensed milk
  • 100g golden syrup
  • 100g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 100g milk chocolate, chopped
  • 50g unsalted butter (for caramel)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, crush the digestive biscuits until fine crumbs. Mix with melted butter.
  3. Press the biscuit mixture into a lined baking tray to form the base.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes, then let cool.
  5. In a saucepan, combine sweetened condensed milk, golden syrup, and butter. Stir over medium heat until it thickens.
  6. Pour the caramel over the cooled biscuit base and allow to set.
  7. Melt the dark and milk chocolate together and pour over the set caramel.
  8. Chill in the fridge until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use high-quality chocolate.
  • Allow the bars to chill completely for easier slicing.
