Delicious melted snow sugar cookies that are soft and sweet, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 cups confectioners’ sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  4. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
  5. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  6. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let cool on wire racks.
  7. When cookies are cool, roll them in confectioners’ sugar until well coated.

Notes

  • For best results, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to one week.
