Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by greasing and dusting it with flour.
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooled browned butter with both sugars and beat until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and maple syrup until smooth.
- Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, starting and finishing with the dry ingredients.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, oats, brown sugar, softened butter, and cinnamon for the crunchy topping until crumbly.
- Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle the crunchy topping evenly over the surface.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before moving it to a wire rack to cool completely.
