Ingredients

  • 1 cup green peas
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  2. Once they start to splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger and garlic paste, followed by the chopped tomatoes.
  4. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  5. Add turmeric, coriander powder, and garam masala, and mix well.
  6. Add green peas and salt, stirring to combine.
  7. Pour in coconut milk and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Adjust seasoning as needed and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add chopped green chilies.
  • Serve with rice or roti for a complete meal.
