- 1 package phyllo dough
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups chopped almonds
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brush a baking dish with melted butter.
- Layer several sheets of phyllo dough, brushing each layer with butter.
- Spread the almond mixture evenly over the phyllo.
- Roll the phyllo tightly into logs and place in the baking dish.
- Cut the rolls into pieces before baking.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- In a saucepan, combine honey, water, and vanilla; bring to a boil.
- Pour the syrup over the hot baklava rolls after baking.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
- Let the baklava sit for at least 4 hours to absorb the syrup.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
