  • Total Time: 1 hour 25 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1 cup of dried hibiscus petals
  • 1 cup of guava nectar
  • 1/4 cup of agave syrup (or to taste)
  • 1/4 cup of fresh mint leaves, plus extra for decoration
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon wedges (for decoration, optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by boiling the water in a medium-sized pot.
  2. Once it reaches a rolling boil, take it off the heat and add the dried hibiscus petals.
  3. Allow the mixture to steep for approximately 15 minutes.
  4. Strain the liquid into a large pitcher, discarding the petals.
  5. Mix in the guava nectar and agave syrup, stirring until well blended.
  6. Taste and adjust the sweetness if necessary.
  7. Toss in the fresh mint leaves and gently press them with a spoon to release their aromatic oils.
  8. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  9. When ready to serve, pour the tea over ice and adorn with extra mint leaves and lemon wedges.

Notes

  • For a bubbly version, substitute half of the water with sparkling water just before serving.
  • Try incorporating other fruit juices like mango or pomegranate for a delightful twist.
