  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  6. Alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with flour.
  7. Pour the batter into prepared pans.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let the cakes cool before removing from pans.
  10. Frost as desired.
