These healthier fig rolls are a delicious and wholesome treat, perfect for snacking or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried figs, chopped
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped figs, oats, whole wheat flour, almond flour, honey, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, almond milk, and melted coconut oil.
  3. Mix until a dough forms, then roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  4. Cut the dough into strips and place a small amount of fig filling along one edge of each strip.
  5. Roll up the strips tightly and place them seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter taste, add more honey or a bit of brown sugar.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
