Ingredients

  • 2 large oranges
  • 1 cup pistachios, shelled
  • 1 cup almonds, blanched

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
  2. In a pot, cover the oranges with water and boil for about 2 hours. Let them cool.
  3. Blend the cooled oranges until smooth.
  4. In a food processor, combine pistachios and almonds until finely ground.
  5. In a bowl, mix the orange puree with sugar, cocoa powder, ground nuts, eggs, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool before serving.
