  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, flour, and cocoa powder.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Drizzle half of the milk over the batter, then swirl it gently with a knife.
  8. Pour the remaining batter on top and repeat the milk drizzle and swirl.
  9. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try adding 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter.
  • You can substitute the semi-sweet chocolate chips with dark chocolate chips for a more intense chocolate experience.
