Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, flour, and cocoa powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Drizzle half of the milk over the batter, then swirl it gently with a knife.
- Pour the remaining batter on top and repeat the milk drizzle and swirl.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter.
- You can substitute the semi-sweet chocolate chips with dark chocolate chips for a more intense chocolate experience.
