Delicious chocolate chip cookie bars baked to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
  7. Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cookie bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a fun twist, add 1/2 cup of peanut butter chips along with the chocolate chips.
  • To make these bars extra indulgent, drizzle melted chocolate over the top after they have cooled.
