Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing and dusting it with flour.
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well mixed.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Gradually incorporate the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just blended.
- Carefully mix in the boiling water until the batter is smooth and well combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan.
- In a small bowl, take 1 cup of the remaining batter and stir in 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder.
- Pour the darker batter over the first layer in the pan and use a knife to create swirls for a marbled effect.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

- For an extra touch, consider folding in some chocolate chips into the batter before baking.
- Swapping the vegetable oil for melted butter can enhance the flavor.
