Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup thawed whipped topping
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for coating)
- 1/2 cup holiday sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, whisking them together until well mixed.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until the mixture becomes light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully blended.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring just until combined.
- Carefully fold in the thawed whipped topping, ensuring the dough is smooth and creamy.
- Scoop out portions of the dough using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, rolling them into small balls.
- Place the powdered sugar in a shallow dish and roll each ball in the sugar until completely covered.
- Arrange the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each.
- If desired, sprinkle the tops with colorful holiday sprinkles.
- Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges turn a light golden brown.
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a festive flair, use holiday-themed sprinkles.
- Ensure the whipped topping is fully thawed for best results.
