Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips (semi-sweet or bittersweet)
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk, dark chocolate chips, cocoa powder, and unsalted butter. Stir continuously until the chocolate and butter are melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Once melted, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt until well combined.
- Allow the sauce to cool slightly before serving. It will thicken as it cools.
- Serve warm over ice cream, brownies, or your favorite dessert.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of cinnamon to the sauce while it’s cooking.
- Try substituting the dark chocolate chips with milk chocolate or white chocolate for a different flavor profile.
