- 2 pounds beef chuck, cut into cubes
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 12 dumplings (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add the beef cubes and brown on all sides.
- Stir in the minced garlic and paprika, cooking for another minute.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook for about 1.5 hours, or until the beef is tender.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and heavy cream. Gradually add this mixture to the pot, stirring to combine.
- Cook for an additional 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve the beef and sauce over dumplings.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, marinate the beef in the broth for a few hours before cooking.
- Make sure to stir the sauce frequently to prevent sticking.
