- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 4 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine milk, butter, and sugar; heat until melted.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
- Allow to cool slightly, then mix in eggs one at a time.
- Scoop batter onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake until golden brown.
- For the custard, whisk together cream, cornstarch, salt, and extracts in a saucepan and cook until thickened.
- Once the cream puffs are cooled, fill them with custard using a piping bag.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- Make sure to let the cream puffs cool completely before filling.
- These treats can be made a day in advance; just store them in an airtight container.
