A beautiful and delicious dessert featuring a buttery almond crust topped with a tart cranberry filling, perfect for special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour, almond flour, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Mix in the softened butter until crumbly.
  4. Add the egg yolk and almond extract, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. Press the dough into a tart pan, covering the bottom and up the sides.
  6. Spread the cranberry sauce evenly over the crust.
  7. Optionally sprinkle chopped walnuts over the cranberry sauce.
  8. Roll out remaining dough, cut into strips, and place over the filling in a lattice pattern.
  9. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool before serving.

  • This dessert can be made a day in advance for better flavor.
  • Serve with whipped cream for extra indulgence.
