Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons ground coffee
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix coffee, cocoa powder, brown sugar, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Rub the spice mixture all over the beef roast.
  4. Place the roast in a roasting pan and cook for about 1.5 to 2 hours or until the desired doneness.
  5. Remove the roast from the pan and let it rest.
  6. In the same pan, add beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  7. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry, then add it to the gravy.
  8. Stir until the gravy thickens and serve over sliced beef.
