Ingredients
Scale
- 1 beef roast
- 2 tablespoons coffee grounds
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons flour
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix together coffee grounds, brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Rub the spice mixture evenly over the beef roast.
- Place the roast in a roasting pan and cook in the preheated oven for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until desired doneness.
- Meanwhile, make the gravy: In a pan, combine beef broth and cocoa powder, and whisk until smooth.

- Whisk the flour mixture into the broth mixture and cook until thickened.
- Once the roast is done, let it rest before slicing and serve with cocoa gravy.
