Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with buttermilk, starting and ending with dry ingredients.
  6. Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full with batter.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
  9. Frost with caramel sauce.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add chopped nuts to the batter.
  • Store cupcakes in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
