A decadent and rich chocolate truffle tart perfect for any chocolate lover.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a tart pan.
  3. Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool.
  4. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  5. Pour the cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for 5 minutes. Stir until smooth.
  6. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, and salt. Gradually add the chocolate mixture and vanilla extract, stirring until fully combined.
  7. Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled crust.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are set but the center is slightly jiggly.
  9. Let the tart cool before refrigerating for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Best served chilled with a dollop of whipped cream.
  • Can be made a day in advance.
