- 1 cup pitted cherries
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, melt the butter and add the cherries, cooking until soft.
- In a bowl, mix sugar, flour, cocoa powder, eggs, vanilla, baking powder, and salt until combined.
- Spread the cherry mixture in a greased cake pan and pour the batter over it.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool before inverting it onto a plate.
