Ingredients

  • 1 package phyllo dough
  • 2 cups chopped nuts (walnuts, pistachios, or almonds)
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup Parmida Chocolate Spread
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Layer phyllo dough in a greased baking dish, brushing each layer with melted butter.
  3. Sprinkle chopped nuts over the dough.
  4. Spread Parmida Chocolate Spread evenly over the nuts.
  5. Continue layering phyllo and nuts, finishing with a layer of phyllo on top.
  6. Cut into diamonds and bake for 45-50 minutes, until golden brown.
  7. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, vanilla, and cinnamon; bring to a boil.
  8. Once baklava is done baking, pour syrup over it immediately and allow to cool.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, consider adding a splash of orange blossom water to the syrup.
  • Ensure the phyllo dough remains covered with a damp towel to prevent drying out.
