A plant-based protein alternative made from chickpeas, often used in vegan and vegetarian dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chickpeas
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Rinse and drain the chickpeas, then blend them with lemon juice, turmeric, garlic powder, nutritional yeast, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  2. In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the blended chickpea mixture and water, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
  4. Once thickened, pour the mixture into a mold and let it set in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
  5. Cut into pieces and serve as desired.
