- 3 large oranges
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- Wash the oranges thoroughly and cut off the tops and bottoms.
- Peel the oranges in quarters and remove the pith.
- Blanch the peels in boiling water for about 10 minutes.
- Drain the peels and repeat blanching process twice more.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and water, bring to a boil.
- Add the peels and simmer until translucent.
- Cool the peels in the syrup, then store in jars.
Notes
- For a more intense flavor, consider adding a bit of vanilla extract to the syrup.
- Store in the refrigerator for longer freshness.
