A delicious traditional pastry filled with cheese, perfect as a snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup Bulgarian cheese or feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the melted butter, yogurt, and egg.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into squares.
  6. Place a spoonful of cheese in the center of each square.
  7. Fold the corners to enclose the filling and place on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.
