Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup masa harina
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup cilantro

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add onions and bell peppers, and sauté until softened.
  3. Add ground beef, chili powder, cumin, and salt. Cook until browned.
  4. In a bowl, mix masa harina with water and salt to form a dough.
  5. Press the masa dough into the bottom of a pie dish to form the crust.
  6. Fill the crust with the beef mixture, topped with diced tomatoes and cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden.
  8. Garnish with cilantro before serving.

Notes
