- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup masa harina
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 1/2 cup chopped bell peppers
- 1/4 cup cilantro
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add onions and bell peppers, and sauté until softened.
- Add ground beef, chili powder, cumin, and salt. Cook until browned.
- In a bowl, mix masa harina with water and salt to form a dough.
- Press the masa dough into the bottom of a pie dish to form the crust.
- Fill the crust with the beef mixture, topped with diced tomatoes and cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden.
- Garnish with cilantro before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add jalapeños to the filling.
- Serve with avocado or sour cream for extra creaminess.
