- 2 sheets puff pastry
- 1 cup basil pesto
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon pine nuts
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into a Christmas tree shape.
- Spread the basil pesto evenly on the puff pastry.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese over the pesto.
- Place the second puff pastry sheet on top and cut out the tree design again.
- Brush the top with the beaten egg.
- Sprinkle pine nuts on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a twist, add some sun-dried tomatoes or olives to the cheese mixture.
- Serve with additional pesto for dipping.
